The different stages in life where psychotherapy can support your children and youth:

1. Pregnancy ā€“ Infancy
Parent support to guide you emotionally through the transition to parenthood or transition to adding to your family. Together we can work through your hopes, dreams, and fears to cultivate a foundation for strong relationships with your new baby or to reduce the impact of relational changes for your current children. We can work through post-partum challenges to foster a secure attachment and increase your connection with your new baby.

2. Toddler - Preschool
A blend of parent support and play therapy to support strong initial relationship foundations, work through early life or relational changes, and cultivate a support network for you and your child early on. Early intervention promotes early resiliency, increased emotional tolerance, and provides improved outcomes for later mental health concerns.

3. School Age
Evidence based play therapy allows young children to explore their world while building their capacity for emotional regulation and processing in a supportive environment through play and through their unique interests.

4. Adolescents
Individual sessions for clients up to age 18 either virtually or in person. Therapeutic sessions with an overall goal to improve the client's overall emotional well-being, capacity for emotional resiliency and regulation, and a greater sense of themselves while they navigate life's challenges.

5. Parent Consultation
Parent consultation is available for parents during all stages (virtual or in person). Together, we will work through your concerns while we work to support you and your child through each developmental stage. Talk therapy allows parents to better understand their childā€™s inner world and individual experiences more clearly while increasing the parentā€™s tolerance, working through challenging patterns, and increasing your connection with your child to support their emotional wellbeing and create more harmony in your home.

I am passionate about supporting young children with complex needs and have been supporting families for nearly 15 years in both community and clinical settings. I am currently a candidate in the Canadian Institute for Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy program and have a small practice under supervision. I have a comprehensive approach to therapy and believe the therapeutic relationship with a child is the most important piece for our success together.
